Branding Update

Just a little message to say hey!

Things might look a little different around here. I spent a good chunk of my morning redesigning my headers, logo, publication name, and some more behind the scenes stuff. Little changes like this help me feel like I’m “nesting” so to speak into the platform. I’m no great graphic designer or anything (thank you Canva) but I am a person that gets motivated by subtle changes like a logo update.

You should see my bedroom when I’m in a cleaning spree. I’ll move every piece of furniture around just to change the vibes of my space.

Anyway, it’s July, and I’m still not finished with my Diary of a TikToker series. I’ll get back to that hopefully soon - since it’s been finalized that TikTok will disappear for US users by march of next year. A new (state run) app M is supposed to be coming out later this year…which I will not be moving to.

I had my fun on TikTok. Posting with online friends and telling stories in original character cosplay was really fun for the time I needed that outlet. Now, I’m ready to shift gears (again) and focus on my writing. Which, I’m not sure if you can see (if you’re reading this in an email, you probably can’t) but I’ve added a new Fiction section to my Substack page! I’m gonna showcase some WIP stories I’ve been sitting on before they become published.

I used to publish my WIP to Wattpad but wow is that platform a mess. If you’re not writing Mafia romance or teen dramas you’re not getting any views there. Nothing wrong with either category, of course. I just don’t usually write that (however, I have been challenged to write a lesbian mafia story…which I may attempt to write someday)

For now, I’ve been pouring my creative writing into fanfiction when I’m not writing original work. I’ve had almost no desire to cosplay as of late, which doesn’t bother me as much as it used to. That hobby always did ebb and flow with my energy and interest - but now I have a closet full of cosplay clothes and accessories that I’m not sure what to do with!

I had so many other plans for this summer; to record original scenes from my books and post them to youtube, to visit friends around the country for conventions or just to hang out, and as per usual, the universe (saturn, my ruling planet) decided NOPE- sit down and get some work done instead. Story of my life. While I do love writing, it’s so damn difficult to find readers willing to take a chance on me. But just because something is hard doesn’t mean it’s not worth doing. And doing. And doing. (Have I mentioned I have 5 books published?)

What a ramble this has become. All I wanted to do was update y’all that my page and emails might look different, and you’re probably already signed up to recieve my fiction posts when I get to them. If that’s not your cup of tea, feel free to unsub! I’ll still try to keep email volume to a minimum - maybe one email per week. Thanks for sticking around while I find my footing here!
